Eligibility Requirements to join the 4th Degree. The requirements are that you must be a Third Degree Knight and have been initiated as a First Degree Knight at least twelve (12) months prior to the Exemplification date.   However, if you have that burning desire to become a Sir Knight of Columbus, and you do not meet the one year requirement, but you have at least six (6) months as a Knight of Columbus, as Master, I can waive your requirement down to six (6) months.  If you cannot meet the six (6) month requirement but you are close don’t fear, for I can submit a waiver request through the Vice Supreme Master to the Supreme Master for consideration.  However, in order to take advantage of this additional waiver, your waiver request must be submitted at least two (2) weeks prior to the Exemplification date.

Dress

Official Dress  Dress for the entire day is black tuxedo, white shirt (pleated or plain) No Wingtip Collars or Ruffles!! Black bowtie, black cummerbund, black plain toe shoes and black socks.  Clergy may wear conventional dress. Active Duty Members of the Armed Forces may wear the appropriate formal/semi-formal uniform.

All Fourth Degree Members are encouraged to attend the Exemplification and Mass in Full Regalia. Members without full regalia MUST wear official dress with social baldric.

Tuxedo Acquisition: Candidates are encouraged to purchase their tuxedo rather then renting. The cost of a tuxedo is equal to two or three rentals. Shop around for the best bargains. K&G Mens store has a selection.


Cost

The Exemplification fee is $70.00, which must be submitted with the Form 4 Membership Application through your Assembly to the District Master. 

Candidates make check payable to your Assembly. 

Candidates will receive a 4th Degree lapel pin, Social Baldric, and one banquet ticket. 

Additional Banquet tickets are $30.  Candidates must purchase banquet tickets for their family and guests in advance through the assembly.  Sir Knights must also purchase banquet tickets in advance though their assemblies for themselves, family and guests.  All tickets must be purchased in advance.  No tickets will be available at the door. 

Assemblies make check payable to: District Master’s Fund. Council Financial Secretaries must check over and sign in Section 7 of Form 4’s to verify that each candidate is a third degree member in good standing and confirm First Degree date. The Faithful Comptroller of each assembly must forward the approved form 4’s, with proper signatures and complete information with the banquet ticket order forms and a check to the Master.

Candidates are guests of the Master and will be given one banquet ticket. Candidates and Sir Knights must purchase additional banquet tickets for family members and guests through their assemblies.  Tickets will be distributed when registering.

Schedule

8:30 am Sir Knights and Candidates in formal attire and guest assemble at St Anthony Claret for registration. Sir Knights will proceed to the chamber, Candidates to the Anti-chamber ladies and guests will be escorted to alternate program area within the parish.

9:00 AM Candidates line up for class photograph.

11:00 AM  Exemplification begins, ladies and guests program begins with breakfast, Bunco, presentation of a gift from the Master. A ladies/guest ticket must be purchased for this breakfast and presentation event. If you did not pre-purchase a ticket, it may be purchased at the event.

1:15 PM Exempflication ends. Individual and/or group photographs and/or Knighting photographs are taken.

1:30 PM Sir Knights, Ladies and guests are served a light lunch in the parish hall. No ticket required.

2 PM Ladies/Guest event continues - All Sir Knights are invited for a presentation on "Our Lady of Guadalupe" and a presentation on "Fourth Degree Regalia." No ticket requried.

4 PM Ladies and guests change into evening attire. Individual and/or group photographs and/or Knight photographs are taken.

4:30 PM New Sir Knights and their ladies/guests will assemble for Mass. All other Sir Knights in Regalia Color Corps and Regalia Dress will assemble.

5:00 PM Mass begins

6:15 PM Social begins

7:30 PM Banquet begins
