President’s Report: Chapter President Rudy Escamilla spoke about the Golf Tournament at the Hyatt Resort. He said that there is not a nicer resort between Miami and Phoenix than the Hyatt Hill Country. The Pro-life mass is Saturday on January 20th. Kudos to Brothers Joe Escamilla, Neland, Roy Ball, and Raul Benavides for all their help in providing rides to the visitors from Honduras. We are looking for help to move Bishop Zurek. The Chrism mass is scheduled for San Fernando the Thursday of Holy Week. Any liquor left over from the Religious Appreciation dinner will go to the State Convention. Leftovers from convention will be used for the mass celebrating the religious anniversary mass at the end of May. Supreme is requesting volunteers for a Spanish speaking degree team which will be traveling into New Mexico and Texas.
Treasurer’s report: Chuck Green stated that there are 34 councils who have paid their dues. The men’s retreat generated a deposit of $5,701 with expenses of $5,274.64 Bank Balance as the 20th of November, 2007 was $3,587.17. This report was approved as reported.
General Agent: Michael Henriquez, FIC was introduced as one of the two new General Agents for the Archdiocese of San Antonio, TX. Over the weekend I had the pleasure to attend a meeting of all 130 GA for North America. We will shortly be introducing some new products and I know that all of you will be excited about these products. Texas is leading the order in growth of new membership. After we have two agencies, we will have 6,700 members each. We need help from the GK and DD to help with Fraternal growth. In the past there was a disconnect between the insurance and the fraternal side and there is not need for this. In the beginning all Knights were insurance members, there were no associates. There are 2,500 insurance companies but only six companies have the top award and the KC Insurance is one of those six, and the only fraternal company among them. Think about how participation in the Insurance program helps YOU and the Order. Last year the Order gave away over $25 million dollars to charity. The premium dollars paid keep the Order going.
Correspondence: Vice president Diego Peña reported on the annual convocation. Father Jeff Peel the convocation coordinator, thanked the Knights who supported the Nov 5-7, 2007 Priests 27th annual meeting. All Priests are invited to the conference. He thanked the KCs for the drinks and door prizes that the Chapter provided.
Chapter Committees:

The price of a Habitat will increase from $50K to $51K. We need items for the auction. Please check the website www.sagolf.org. If you go to "resources" "forms" you will find all the fliers. Retama Park has a a good sound system, parking is close, plenty of restrooms. The golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, April 14 with the Gala on April 12th 2008. The bottom line is that a new family gets a home out of this and most important there is fellowship. The next committee is January 28th at Holy Spirit at 7 pm.

Diocesan Deputy Report: Jim Wade stated that we started out well and we must support our insurance agents. The Tootsie roll drive was a success. Because we made our goal last year I was able to give Archbishop Gomez $67,700 for the deaf ministry and we now have a priest who will teach deaf seminarians. We have San Antonio growing and we have parishes who have doubled in size but the councils have not grown in the same percentage as the parishes. Ask the men around you “are you a knight?” we are not getting our percentage of new knights.
The State free-throw competition is scheduled for March 8th at Antonian High School.
