Chaplain’s Report. We have been well fed this evening. Thanks to the Knights for the upcoming clergy appreciation dinner on Feb 8. I want to say a few words about each of those events. I think it is important as a Knight, as a Grand Knight, as a District Deputy, it is important that we are here. The priests really do need our support, our help and our understanding. This is one time during the year when the Knights publicly say to the clergy, a "Thank You for your ministry." That goes both ways, thanks to the Knights for your support. Please pray for vocations.

About the golf tournament, we all enjoy this event, and that is important. I ask you Grand Knights to be very committed to this yourself. It may not be your number one project, but it should be on your list. See what we are doing...we are building affordable homes for people who would not be able to afford a home. These people contribute with their time and effort. It is not a handout. Please participate with your donations of your time and your money. When you read the New Testament, you read about God's love for the poor.

Wed, Feb 11, is the day designated by our Holy Father for the sick. We will have services 6 times that day at our Lady of Lourdes grotto. Masses will be at 7 am, 10 am, noon, 3 pm, 5 pm, 7:30 pm. I will be giving the sermon for each of these Masses. Please come and make a Mass on this day.

The KC Couples retreat will be held April 2-4, 2004. More information to follow. We had 61 at the Acts retreat for St Brigid recently. A large number of those were Knights - it was wonderful to see so many.

Archbishop Flores will have been the Archbishop for 25 years this year. On Sunday, June 13th, there will be a Mass of Thanksgiving for Archbishop Flores at 4 pm, at the Greehy Center at St Mary's University. Please reserve that day to be with our Bishop.

President’s report - Chapter President Ken Martinez spoke about leadership in our order, from the Council up. Please encourage some of the younger guys in your Council to participate.

Our KC license plates are available for  your purchase. You can order them from the website at:  http://www.dot.state.tx.us/vtr/spplates/specialplate.htm?nbr=130 These license plates have our logo on them, and also has the slogan at the bottom: "One Nation Under God."  They cost $30 per year, of which $22 goes back to the State Charity fund.

The Alamo messenger has a slightly different format. It is longer, and costs more to print and mail. To try to offset the cost, if you'd like to have the newsletter emailed to you, just let us know.
