Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chapter President Rudy Escamilla at 7:30 pm
Opening Prayer: Council 7613 led the chapter in a rosary
Pledge of Allegiance: Led by Sir Knight Mike Morrison
Warden’s Report: Warden Roy Ball reported 92 members present.
Recognition of Honored Guest Archbishop Gomez.
First Time Attendees were recognized.
Host District Deputy: Sam Szalwinski is resting at home. We prayed for his health.
Padre Pio Council GK Moslen was recognized for his quick start recruiting of five new brother knights.

Minutes. Minutes of the May meeting were approved.
Chapter Chaplain. Bishop Flanagan was out of Town and Archbishop Gomez gave an introduction of the state of the Diocese. He mentioned that we are celebrating 275 years of Catholicism in San Antonio with the celebration of San Fernando Cathedral. There are 24 seminarians and there 75 student at Assumption Seminary coming to us from 16 dioceses. Pat Rodgers has been promoted to Director of communications which entails Catholic TV, Today’s Catholic and the Web page. We provide deeper support for every program in the archdioceses so as to provide good solid catholic formation to everyone. There are 15,000 students in catholic schools, we received notice that our schools will be eligible for $250,000 in scholarship for the Southside schools. He thanked the knights for their help at the Priest House at Canyon Lake.

General Agent Richard Gaona.
We are the third strongest insurance company in the USA. We are in need of insurance agents and if you know of someone who is a Knight refer them to us and you get $200. We have attorneys who can speak at a parish open house. Please give the agents the opinion to say what they need to say, invite the agent to be at their first degree to be with your new members. The agent takes a night off from work to be with your council. Please do not push the new member package found on the form 100. You are not license to sell life insurance.
Correspondence - We received a letter from Sister Falan at UTSA who is requesting tent for their Catholic ministries on Sept 17 at noon for a Mass. Also received a thank you letter from Habitat for Humanity for the $40,000 balance on our contribution for the House.
Chapter Committees:
1. Golf Tournament. Rusty League. April 16 is the date for the tournament. The first meeting will be at Holy Spirit at 7pm on Monday the 21st of this month. We need more support from the councils. It will take $50,000 to build a house at this time. We'd like to raise $5000 more so that the chapter has seed money for the next year.
2. Habitat for Humanity - Henry Gonzalez reported that the construction of the house begin in two weeks at 3602 Aragon, the family names is Priscilla Escaleda. Those DD who have not registered for their dates please call 849-6616. September 22 is Leadership Day. October 28 is landscaping day that is the day that we need all Catholic Youth groups and Catholic Fraternities. DD do not forget to get the meals for the workers, those include the morning snack with liquids and lunch with liquids.
3. Coordinator of Religious Activities. Wayne Pipes. Requested a list of all members who are interested in helping. Pro-life chair chain will be on October 29 from 2-3pm and also in Hondo, Castroville, and Bandera. Pro-life Ace Wings need five pro-life activities to get an award.
4. Men's Retreat. Charlie Carvaral and others presented a slide show on the men’s retreat on September 22-24, 2006 from 7:30 pm at Camp Tecaboca. Contact Stan Harmen or Pat Klasing at 210-493-9175 or 210-434-7078.
5. Trustees. Audit in June, report in August.
Old Business. The priest House at Canyon Lake for the use of Priest only. It is a six bedroom house. Sam has redone 12 screen for the house and they need to be picked up and installed at the house.
New Business.
The tootsie roll drive needs councils. Nominations from the floor were made for secretary. Christopher Anders was nominated and elected as secretary for the chapter. He is from council 4315.
October 15 the Pope will canonize he will be the First Saint from San Antonio. Archbishop Rafael Huizar y Valencia. If you are interested in helping be at the Chancery for a meeting on Friday the 17th.
The chapter meetings for the next three months will be at New Braunfels in September, Holy Trinity in October and St. Brigid in November.
Election of Chapter Secretary. Victor Quesnot nominated Chris Anders from Council 4315 to be the chapter secretary. Motion was seconded, no other nominations were received, and he was elected by acclamation.
Diocesan Deputy Report -
Jim
Wade presented Archbishop Gomez a check for
$62,094.64 from the State Texas Charities. Wayne Pipes has been appointed the
Pro-Life Couple. We had Financial Secretary training last Saturday and had about
30 attendees. We are trying to provide the Councils with the help that they
need. Habitat starts on the Sept 8 with 13 Fridays and Saturdays in the build.
Get out and ask if the men you saw at church if he is a knight. Ask them! Let
keep this ball rolling for we can do great things.
Fourth Degree. Mike Morrison was introduced as the new Master for District 2. He announced the Exemplification scheduled for October 28 at St Matthew.

New Braunfels has a ProLife
Leadership/Training Seminar with the Majella Society scheduled for Sept
14th, 7PM. Bishop Zurek has been invited.
Chapter meeting Sept 20. Brisket and Sausage added later.
Special Olympics, Bocci Ball, New Braunfels High School, Friday, Sept
22, 9-3. Qualifies as a ProLife event towards the ProLife ACE Wings.
Council 6358 State Golf Tournament on. Will hold the registration September 29 thru October 1.
Council 5262 will host a major degree on September 10 starting at 8 am.
Council 7770 raffle ticket for $100 dance, food, drink and the award of $5000 for the last five picks and every 25th pick wins their $100 back.
Council 4315 will be celebrating the 50th anniversary. Wants every council to purchase an advertisement for the booklet on October 15.
The Next meeting will be Sep 19, at Council 4183, St Peter and St Paul Council, New Braunfels. Dinner at 7 pm.
The sick and in distress were remembered.
