Minutes of the Archdiocese of San Antonio Chapter, Knights of Columbus

Ash Wednesday - Feb 21,  2007 - Council 6358, Schertz.

Before the meeting:

Deacon Vick led the chapter in a Decade of the Rosary and presented ashes.

Presentation by sisters on Life Awareness: Sister Gloria Ann Fiedler and Sister Charlene Wiedlich, Sisters of Divine Providence. Sr Fiedler has been brought to the Archdiocese of San Antonio to promote the mission of vocation awareness in our youth. Our Lady of the Lake University is planning a weekend retreat, June 1-3, 2007, to invite anyone who is interested in spending a weekend of discernment. The cost is $25, and Sister invited the Knights and Councils to consider sponsorship to help cover the cost of the retreat. Perhaps a Council could sponsor one of the four meals for the entire retreat for a few hundred dollars. Contact Sr Fiedler at (210) 434-1866 or gfiedler@cdptexas.org. There is a link on the Chapter Website to the “Life Awareness.”

The Council will not have to expend any funds, just provide the manpower to transport food and liquor. Luis Benavides can give you intelligence on how to get it in the hotels without getting caught! Seriously, it would be a shame for this great Archdiocese to not have a hospitality room. Even Shiner will have a hospitality room. Please contact Rudy Escamilla. Traditionally, the Council providing this service gets one free room off the hospitality room.
