Minutes of the Archdiocese of San Antonio Chapter, Knights of Columbus

February 18, 2004

Opening Prayer:  Deacon George Vick  led the opening prayer.

Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chapter Vice President Robert Von Lehmden at 7:30 pm

The Warden vouched that all in attendance are members.

Minutes.  Secretary Mike Nishimuta published the minutes on the Chapter Web Site at http://kc.texascomputerhelp.com.   The minutes were accepted as printed.

Treasurer’s report (Wayne Pipes)

Chaplain Report: George Vick spoke on the lack of interest in Eucharistic Congress. Will try next month to set a meeting specifically for that. Noted that if we were to have one, Texas would be the only state to ever host one. Mexico is betting on having over 3,000 for theirs.

President's Report (Bob Von Lehmden)

There are approximately 20 Cardinals, Archbishops, and Bishops from Canada, the United States, Mexico, Central and South America here for a three day conference hosted by Archbishop Flores. Tonight is the closing liturgy. Little Flower Council is hosting the hospitality tonight for the conference.  Mike Nishimuta is in the choir, Ken Martinez is also at San Fernando for the liturgy. The chapter was responsible for their transportation to and from the airport. Thanks to all who helped.

Thanks to all who helped at Our Lady of the Lake University for the sister's prayer service and gathering in appreciation of Archbishop Flores on February 1. Over 200 sisters were present, and two Assemblies provided bar service. Thanks to the Councils who donated for the wine.
