Bishop Flanagan requested that all councils provide a copy of the book Parish Priest to every priest, deacon and seminary.

General Agent:    Richard Gaona

We have four more months in the fraternal year. Every day I check the obituaries to see if a Brother Knight is listed or their wife. I wonder if these people plan that this is the day that will be our last. Are we prepared for this last day? Recently, I was delivering a check to a members wife who husband had died in a car accident. She wanted to purchase a policy with the Knight but we could not service her since her husband had died as an associate member. I advise you I encourage you to at least sit down with your agent to find out what the benefits of being a knight are. Finally in December  a partnership has been formed with Bishop Flanagan and he has published a letter welcoming all new members to not only to become an active member but also an insurance member.

Correspondence -    Henry Gonzales read a thank you letter for the Knights who provided wine to the day of Celebration for Consecrated service for the sisters at OLLU.

Chapter Committees:

1.  Golf Tournament.    Rusty League.  Reported that he is having a great time and enjoys his work with the knights. This is truly a family. He showed off the first, second and third prizes for the teams and the gift that every golfer will received. He thanked everyone and asked everyone to bring their check book to the gala on April 30 at Pat O'Briens. We must raise $75,000 so we can net the $50,000 to build the home. If any knight knows any business owner ask them for some type of gift or donation. We are representing the KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS not any particular individual. We have the Outback Steakhouse support for the golfer's meal which will be outstanding.

Diocesan Deputy Report -   Jim Wade

It was a beautiful thing to see when the discussion for the Cardinal Medeiros fellowship came up and the enthusiasm just bubbled up and the momentum was remarkable.

In membership, we are ranked number seven in the state and that makes us average. There are 94 members at this meeting if everyone of use was to turn to the man beside us and invite that person to join the brotherhood we would have a tremendous month.

Also every council should be supporting a seminarian, if you need the name of one please call me.

Cardinal Medeiros Fellowship. Clifford Estes reported that he has a $1,000 for a fellowship in the name of Archbishop Flores.  The goal will be to obtain a fellowship for each Bishop in the dioceses. Make your check out to the "Texas State Council Charity" and note in the bottom of the check that it is for the Cardinal Medeiros Fellowship. Additional donations of $805 came in during the meeting tonight.
